Happy New Year 2010!!
Frey Family on New Years 2010: Rich, Neil & David; Patty w/ Jon, Mea, Christy w/ Trisha.
David & Mea: David continues to live in his beloved San Diego, was recently laid off, and plans to go back to college in January. Mea, now 10 and in 5th grade, joined us for a Frey Family time beginning New Year's Eve, and what fun we had!!
Chris & Rich: Chris is taking a year's leave from teaching, going back to school in January to work on an MA. Rich enjoys the 3 furlough days imposed upon CA State employees, although the cut in pay makes adjustments necessary. Jon (4) and Trisha (1) keep their lives full, fun, and very lively. They joined us for the week leading up to our Frey Family New Year's time.
Neil: Retired and enjoying it, Neil's main focus is serving as president of the board for Transformation Ministries. Sudoku, reading, monitoring the care of his 94-year-old mother (resident in skilled nursing at Atherton Baptist Homes), taking L3 (a Christian leadership course at our church, FBC of Alhambra), and keeping Patty out of mischief fill the rest of his time. He also loves doing jigsaw puzzles, especially with Jon. They're "The Puzzle Guys"!
Patty: I stretched and grew a lot this year when, working part-time for Transformation Ministries, I was put in charge of their database and trained to work on their website. Who would have thought this would be such fun! I love working for TM and being in choir at FBC Alhambra, where I am also taking MasterLife this year. (Below: Patty celebrating her birthday with Trisha & Jon)
Neil & Patty as grandparents: my wonderful friend, Ramona, a missionary in Mexico, says this about grandchildren, and it's so true: "They take up residency in a part of our hearts we never knew existed." How blessed we are with these three precious grandchildren, and what joy they bring to our lives!
May your journey through 2010 be walked with God in your heart and Jesus at your side.
