How Quickly Your Life Can Change! #3
In reading my first two posts on this shingles/post-herpetic neuralgia journey, I can see the amazing progress I've made. I attribute that to your prayers - to God's direct healing touch and His use of doctors and medicine.
Highlights of this part of the journey:
~ We have been able to do each of the trips we'd already planned for this summer, with my doctors' blessings: the Panama Reunion in Tennessee, a beach weekend with David & Mea in San Diego, and most recently the trip to Oregon and Idaho. We have seen almost all our family that lives in the United States = blest beyond belief!
~ In Idaho, we were with my sister Merrilyn & Jack plus our cousin Peggy & Lew. Each of us three gals was married within a few months of each other way back when, and we celebrated our triple-45th wedding anniversaries together. Glory be to God!!
~ Do trips equal pain? Yes, they do, but it's worth it. The good news: by the time we returned from this last trip, I was doing much, much better than when we left.
~ Accomplishments include being able to drive again (Whooppee!!)) and being able to wash, dry & style my own hair. Lest you wonder, Neil did not do my hair for me, our hair guy did. I'm also able to do a whole lot more around the condo and the kitchen, to which Neil probably would say, "Whooppee!"
~ Current situation: still on medical leave, often have deep pain in the shoulder and always painful sensitivity of the arm, although significantly reduced; still on the maximum dosage of Gabapentin plus Ibuprofen on a regular regimen throughout the day and pain patches; heading into a month of intensified physical therapy.
~ Prognosis: all 3 doctors say the same thing, "It will take 6-12 months to be well again." I 'm claiming wellness by Christmas!!
